This artwork is one of a series of two lino prints that I made with the lesser known fynbos plants as theme – not the flowering fynbos plants such as the Proteas or Leucospermums, but plants that are often not noticed within the rich fynbos biome. I chose them for their interesting shapes and textures. I made artworks of these ‘unimportant’ plants and raised their status to be displayed on walls.
I found a parallel between these plants and us as humans: God chooses us – even when we are unimportant / small / unknown and makes us His children and lifts us up to our new status.
This is a monochrome lino print on white art paper. Every lino is cut and individually printed by hand.
