Wind on Table Mountain

This is my first large oil painting done in 2022. It is a 1100x1100mm abstract work that is based on fynbos Helichrysum flowers that blooms in the summer on our mountains in the Cape. The name Helichrysum is derived from the Greek helios meaning sun, and chrysos meaning gold, referring to the bright yellow colour of the flower heads. In my painting, I portrayed the strong summer winds blowing through this hardy fynbos shrub. I hope you can see the movement of the wind and the colours of the sun.
