This is true excitement! I feel privileged that the Table Mountain Aerial Cable way have been using my artworks, printed on wallpaper, in their shops on Table Mountain, since 2015. My artworks are also sold in the Shop at the Top. Table Mountain supports their local artist!
The past two years (2020 and 2021) have been very challenging for the Tourism Industry and much fewer people visited our beautiful mountain. I realized that it is time to give thanks. I approached Cara Saven Wall Design to partner with me to give a gift to our beloved Table Mountain and renew the wall coverings in their shops. Cara generously agreed to sponsor the brand-new wall design using two of my artworks.
The artwork we chose for the area behind the counter in The Shop at the Top, is a large oil painting of Lion’s head with sugarbush proteas in the foreground.
The artwork for the Kiosk, is a lino print (hand coloured with water colour paint) of a King protea.
The installation was done in October 2021, and it looks magnificent! Larger than life art behind the pay stations and in the Kiosk on our mountain. This is our gift to you, Table Mountain and City of Cape Town.
